Coffee, a brew which is prepared using roasted coffee beans. Coffee is a widely drank beverage and it is used in almost all the countries in the world. People have become so much used to coffee that it has become an essential drink. People have coffee at their work place, homes, and also while commuting they just buy a take away and sip along. There are so many different variants of coffee being prepared namely espresso, cappuccino and many more. Coffee is an addictive drink. Coffee contains a compound known as Caffeine and it is a powerful stimulant. Caffeine boosts the metabolism and thereby increasing the energy levels when consumed, which also leads to weight loss and affects brain function.

There are many studies conducted on coffee and it is concluded from these studies that regular coffee intake can reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Caffeine also helps people think with a clear head and control their temper and anxiety by stimulating the central nervous system which in turn increases the work efficiency of the person.

Coffee contains anti oxidants which play an important role in reducing the risk of cancer. Caffeine in coffee also acts as anti depressant, alleviate mood swings and keeps the mind alert.

Coffee has a lot of benefits and positive effects on the mental health, but even it comes with its own share of negative things. There are few disadvantages of coffee to name a few; it is found that the women who frequently drink large amounts of coffee run a risk of suffering from myocardial infarction. Excessive consumption of coffee leads to caffeine addiction. Excessive intake of coffee can cause indigestion, elevated blood pressure, constipation, heart problems and other health issues.

Anything in excess can cause harm, and it is the same with coffee. It is beneficial in moderation.
